“A most magical afternoon”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 8, 2013

It was a warm sunny October day
What we experienced blew us far far away.

The colour the plants and oh the style
By far the best UK garden by a mile.

The palette of colour in October as well !
Breathless swathes of movement and quite sensual.

The sculptures enhance but do not detract.
From this utter gem. We will be back.

Paul and Pauline you are creators of a garden of views and hews.
for which we say thankyou thankyou thankyou.

Bernie and Kathy

we love the fact that our garden has inspired you to poetry ! we love the witty and quirky nature of this review.. we feel it fits so wonderfully with the spirit of our garden ... after all gardens should not be too serious ! as Miranda's mum would say -what fun !

“Fantastic”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

We had not heard of the garden before, our son had visited the week before and recommended the garden to us. We are very pleased we made the trip, so much of a difference to the many other gardens we have visited where quite often an interesting plant is deep inside a border and too far away to get a close look. Being able walk through the borders and get up close to all the plants is such a treat, and the large blocks of planting make a great impact.
We visited in the first week of September, when earlier flowering plants have finished, but the colour and splendour is still incredible. Sussex Prairies is on our list now for a visit a bit earlier in the year to get a different season view of the garden. Highly recommended.

so glad that you had a super experience .. summer time on the prairie is a really different experience to the september scene.. as we now enter the realm of the big flowery time ! huge banks of colour from the mass plantings of echinacea will take your breath away ! summer time is flower time !

“a Plant and Art Fair to remember”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

Yesterday I went to this event at the Sussex Prairies garden and or though I've seen and worked in many gardens in the UK - this one took my breath away. Why is that? I think because it is sooo different and you can feel the vastness here and can loose yourself in your own dreams. As for the garden show itself: well organised, very good atmosphere, friendly welcome, all perfect. It is often the little things in life we will remember-here in this garden every exhibitor was greeted in the morning with free coffee and croissant-what a wonderful idea, one could get used to that !
Thank you Paul and Pauline for such a beautiful space you created.

“One of the greatest British gardens and a monument to the creator's vision”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013

Christopher Wrens's epitaph is well known* and it could well serve for the epitaph of the creators of this amazing modern garden set in the low weald, near Henfield, north of the Downs. This garden varies between being a vast abstract painting with huge blocks of colour to being some sort of kinetic sculptor with wind driven swaying rhythms. At times the garden is tactile as one walks through down the corridors between the beds. It is fabulous and profoundly unusual.
I have visited gardens in five continents and many countries and never seen one like this. Sussex has long been a fantastic county for garden afficionados and is even more so with the addition of the Prairies Garden. We salute its creators.

I have spent a long time wondering how I could possibly respond to such a humbling and heartwarming review. All I can say is how happy we are to have evoked such a response in a visitor. We love our garden immensely and love looking after it and hope it gives pleasure to people when they come. It seems on this occasion all the hard work and passion and creativity has paid off ! Nature in the raw , beautiful plants and all that grows in the garden is a miracle to us and we are glad that somehow we have managed to tap into that energy to create something extraordinary ! Looking forward to welcoming you back again in another season to see how it can change .

“Well maintained garden”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2013

What a lovely garden. The owners have really worked hard to create such a garden. The owners were very friendly. This made it a very enjoyable afternoon. We had afternoon tea with cake after the walk around the garden. It was lovely sitting there looking out to the garden. Afterwards we bought a plant . So many plants to choose from. Would go again .
