“Cambridgeshire Quality”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2013 via mobile

This is an excellent B & B which offers quality bungalow style accommodation with large and comfortable rooms. These are a welcome change from the cramped stairways and confined bedrooms found in too many B & Bs. The proprietors are very pleasant & co-operative & Hemingford Grey is a very pretty village. This makes The Thorpe a great base for visiting Cambridge, Ely, Huntingdon, St Ives, Godmanchester etc.

This is a real find. Classy accommodation - smart modern and spotlessly clean rooms. Very nice owners - friendly, helpful and willing. Good location and very reasonable prices. Good breakfast. To be honest, it is one of the best I have come across. Located in a beautiful village with a great pub/restaurant - The Cock - just 1/4 mile away, it is an ideal place for an overnight stay for business people working in Cambridge or Huntingdon. Undoubtedly, I will use it again. Thoroughly deserves top marks.

Room Tip: All good rooms.

Stayed here for a night on the way to the Norfolk Broads and it made for a perfect start to our holiday..

Room was beautifully furnished and comfortable, with ideal en suite facilities.

Stewart made us really welcome and we'll definitely stay again.

What a lovely visit it was to Stewart and Nicky's house. We spent two nights there with our son who had a weekend off from Bedford School. Coming to the Thorpe Guesthouse for the first time we immediately felt like being in the house of friends. Perfectly clean rooms, great hospitality and Stewarts remarkable "Eggs Benedict" for breakfast made it an unforgettable experience. And when you see them playing Green Bowling at the local sports ground as we did, you realise they are outstanding in every way...

These words are very much appreciated and it was an absolute pleasure to have your company for 3 days. As for the green bowls... that 's another story. Things can only get better as they say.

My sister and I stayed here for a night before a half marathon at Grafham. The room was super clean but had a nice homely feel to it and the open plan kitchen makes for a great breakfast spot. Stewart and Nicky were very welcoming and really great hosts. I would recommend this to anyone passing through the area and it is close enough to the A1 so you don't have to take a big detour but still feel like you are in the middle of the countryside.
Overall a great stay!

We stayed here two nights for business in Hungtingdon. It was very nice to come 'home' after the long days of work. The silence, the good beds and the hospitality of Stewart and Nicky were great. There is a nice restaurant within walking distance. And we had a nice breakfast. In short, we had a good time.
