I went to this property last year in January 2012 (not 13, Tripadvisor wont let me back date that far I guess) duirng the off season with some friends and it was really nice. I figured I'd write a review becasue we did enjoy our stay and I remember it well. Our condo unit was well kept and stylish. It's a quiet spot, but just a short walk to the action.
Upon arriving the managment staff is very welcoming. They explain where your unit is and will even show you if need be. It's fairly easy to get to and it's right on 7 mile beach. There is usally enough parking close to your unit, at least when we went. The grounds are kept up in line with this price range of resort, which is to say very nice but not over the top (if you want over the top the Ritz is down the street for a lot more money). The units are condo style, with 3 floors. We had a third floor unit with an ocean view. From the street, it's a bit understated, but perhaps thats the point. It was quite sleepy while we were there (January), and it was real quiet at night. It's on a portion of 7 mile beach that is closer to Brigetown, but certainly still a few miles up. That said it's walkable if your or up for a hike, but otherwise its easy access if you drive. Its also close to the Camana Bay mall, but again a couple mile walk or very short drive. The Kirk supermarket is also very close. There are a couple bars right across the street from the resort that you can walk to and we found them decent for food and drink. (Tip: If you drink, Alcohol is very expensive at the stores on island, buy at the duty free stores before you come down if you want to save money). The beach in front of the resort is pretty small, but we never had a problem getting chairs. It's also a bit rocky straight in front of the resort, so bring water shoes or just walk down to the Courtyard next door and it gets sandy. It has tennis courts and we even played oned day, but it gets pretty hot during the day so I recommend early morning or evening if you want to use them. Overall I would say it's low key and relaxing. If thats what you want it's for you. If you want the glitz and glamour of a high end resort or pampering service, perhaps something down seven mile would be more appropriate.
At least the one we stayed in, was well kept. The bathrooms were clean, the bed sheets folded, and we had a corner unit with an ocean view screened in patio that was great for lounging in the evening. Grab a cool drink, watch the sunset and read or play some board games. The patios are great. Even if you are in the back units, it's never more than a 1-2 minute walk to the beach. We utilized the small kitchen and while not spacious, was all we needed for 4 people.
Low key, quiet, clean, beachfront on 7 mile, nice staff, central location.
Not many, not really full service if that is what you want (we were fine without it), beach could be bigger / less rocky. Otherwise this is a really nice spot.
The Caymans are a great spot, and I am looking forward to returning to the Plantation Village.
