Description: On crossing the wooden bridge that leads to Ristorante Pappagallo, you will see swimming beneath there are sleek silvery tarpon, always on the lookout for scraps from the kitchen. You are thus, thrown into a world of the exotic, even before reaching the front door! Then, as you enter the spacious foyer, you're met at the front door by an African gray parrot, humorously called Humphrey Bogart. He is one of the oldest Pappagallo employees with over ten years experience in welcoming guests and posing for photos (especially with the little ones!). You will then immediately notice the inviting and well-stocked bar, decorated in an art deco style, where customers can take pre-dinner drinks or enjoy an after dinner drink in a cool and inviting atmosphere. On your right hand side, lies one of our two dining rooms, the Pappagallo Room. Inside, the impressive high ceiling will grab your attention, with its typical Mexican-style thatching. Wrought iron lights gently illuminate the air-conditioned room and huge glass-fronted bird cages feature all around the walls housing live parrots, macaws, cockatoos and African grays, all vying for your attention. The walls are also decorated with colorful pictures of parrots and a giant turtle shell which came from a 500 pound green sea turtle, which was raised in Cayman at West Bay's Turtle Farm. All this, and a great view of the waterfall cascading into the lagoon directly outside the room... how can you possibly forget that you are dining in a tropical paradise? On your left hand side of the foyer is the Flamingo Room, also with a fabulous thatched roof, this time in a traditional Cayman style. The entire roofing used 100,000 fronds and took over 6 months to construct - no mean feat. The Flamingo Room is left open to catch the cooling breeze, but is air-conditioned when the weather dictates. Here, you can enjoy a fabulous panoramic view over the lagoon. Large prints of flamingos decorate the walls and again, wrought iron lights lend their soft glow.Beyond this room lies a third eating area, the Garden Patio, a large screened- in porch where diners eat al fresco during the cooler winter months. This also has a magnificent lagoon view and Pappagallo usually caters for large parties & weddings here.

“Owner makes you feel welcome”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

The food was good, the atmosphere was excellent and the owner and the parrot make it all worth going. As someone else mentioned it is a bit off the beaten path from 7 mile beach...but worth the trip. We were early for our reservation but were seated promptly. The parrot (I think his name was Bogey) made it a fun adventure.

“Best Meal EVER!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

So glad my friends suggested Pappagallo...what a meal! I was looking for a special meal for my daughter's graduation. I went to the restaurant early in the day to book the reservations and by chance met the manager who took me on a small tour of the grounds and explained they were having a wedding there the night of June 8, 2013. I was assured the small room would be available for our special meal that night. He was very engaging, booked our reservation and made sure to get the instructions correct regarding her special graduation dessert. Our dinner went flawlessly. The wait staff were very attentive, the food was to die for, the dessert perfect. Everything about the whole experience was impeccable. I would wholeheartedly recommend an evening here.

“Just Amazing!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 6, 2013

We went to this restaurant because it was very close to Cotton Tree, where we stayed. We went the first night and liked it so much that we had to go back again the last night. I do not like seafood but my family does. This place was the only place we decided to go to twice because their filet mignon was so good. The owner is there and very involved. He is really nice, greeted us, remembered us on our return visit and even gave my son a free birthday dessert. I can't say enough good about this place, the service, and the food. Phenomenal!!

“Cayman Island Trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

Our party of 8 went here for our last dinner on our trip to the Cayman's. We had made reservations the day before and were seated promptly upon arriving. My wife and I both ordered the veal piccati. It was perfectly done with 3 nice medallions on each plate. The piccati sauce was very good, not too sharp but not too bland. It also came with baby fingerling potatoes and a vegetable, both of which were very tasty. The service was efficient but not overly friendly. This was the best meal we had while on Cayman.
