“nice friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 6, 2013

we stayed here overnight and found it very pleasant, the rooms were clean enough, loved the character of the building, great breakfast as much toast and coffee as you liked as well as your full breakfast, could maybe do with updating the carpets as some of them were worn in places but overall very nice.

Room Tip: very warm in room on top floor, window wouldn't stay open.

This hotel is very reasonably priced- with great views of the Castle. Staff couldn't do enough for us and the food for dinner was better than anticipated as in a big group. Breakfast good too. Served early for us as had to be out at 8.30.
The hotel is in need of some TLC but overall very clean and friendly and great value for money.

We stayed here overnight as it was very convenient for a family get together locally. The room was nice and clean although the bathroom was probably in need of some updating and refurbishment, the stay overnight was comfortable. The bar had some nice real ales on tap that were kept and served well. We didn't eat in the restaurant but breakfast had a decent selection the following morning. The view from the room was superb as we looked onto the castle.

We had Sunday Lunch here yesterday. Very disappointing roast in the manner of a school dinner. The beef was adequate, but the rest of the meal was shocking. The cabbage was like leather. I'm not even sure how they managed to do this to it. It was cut into long strips which were impossible to chew. The Yorkshire Puddings were raw in the middle. The roast potatoes had been reheated. We were asked to pay in advance "in case we did a runner ". I know that this was said in jest, but I can't help thinking that it's done this way to make sure they get paid at all.

Fab breakfast and lovely old building if people want modern hotels stay in the travel lodges. Hotel is in a great location overlooking walkworth castle near beach and river walks would highly recommend for a quiet weekend break.

I visited during a stay in Warkworth. I called in during the afternoon after a tour of Warkworth Castle and decided to visit again for a meal.

The food was delicious and the staff worked very hard. I liked the views of the castle and friendly atmosphere. Hence returning for another meal a few nights later.

Hotel staff were friendly, food in the restaurant was nice. Decor a little tired but is reflected in price for room. Warkworth has lovely walks and castle and is on the beach too, also very close to Northumberland National Park. Also there was no extra charge for having the dog along too!
