“A Little Bit of Paradise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2013

We celebrated a very special anniversay recently on Palm Island. It was our fourth visit but this time we were accommpanied by our brother and sister in law.
Palm is better now than ever. The staff are superb - each and every one. Horace the new manager goes above the call of duty and sets the tone. He has a very happy staff around him. The island is relaxing, beautiful and just down right special. Uncluttered by the demands of everyday life. Rustic charm best describes the rooms - caribbean style. We will return. Thank you Palm

Just returned from 7 days on Palm Island feeling refreshed, renewed and rejuvenated! This is a beautiful private island where you can relax and enjoy the beauty of the sun, surf and vegetation. The only decisions to be made are pool versus beach, frozen daiquiri or not, food choices for three meals per day. Staff was incredibly accommodating at every turn. Kudos to Horace and Cecilia for service beyond expectations. Property is well maintained and fellow guests are quiet yet friendly. Do not come here if you prefer a wild time. Rather choose Palm Island if you wish to relax and disengage from the frenetic pace of the everyday world. Take a sailing trip to Tobago Cays and swim with the turtles. Climb Iguana trail and gaze out at the Grenadine Islands. Ride a bike around the island. Read that book you have never finished. Relax, renew, rejuvenate!

We are still staying at this amazingly wonderful island paradise but I had to let everyone know just how thoughtful the staff here is. Valentines day started with a note delivered to our room from the General Manager and staff wishing us a happy valentines day and was personalized with Dear Mr and Mrs.... Then as we walked into dinner the ladies were given a long stem red rose and we both received a glass of champagne. The chef created a special menu that concluded with a very special dessert served in a wine glass with a red heart of raspberry filling on top. Also during dinner an acoustic guitar player played love songs at each table. Really nice touch! A lot of resorts offer a "special" dining experience for an additional charge (which they also offered to dine alone on the beach) but it was wonderful that everyone was treated to a special evening at no charge. That is only a glimpse of how genuinely caring and thoughtful the staff is!

This was our second visit to Palm Island this Christmas. It is a beautiful Caribbean Island, an hour from Barbados by 18 seater plane, followed by a 5 min boat ride. It is very much unchanged from the first time we visited 10 years ago. The island never feels crowded and you can always find a secluded beach to yourself if you go for a walk.

Palm Island, like many of its neighbours is all about seclusion and natural beauty, so days can start pretty early and end by 10pm. Some evenings they do however have local bands and entertainment.

On the facilities side, there is a gym with everything you need, library, swimming pool, 2 restaurants, plenty of iguanas, turtles, golf (of sorts) and water sports. The beaches and ocean are stunning and rival anywhere we have ever visited.

The real charm of island however is the staff. There are some real personalities to look after you, and their genuine warmth and friendliness made our stay. A special mention to Kevin, Kenneth, Alex, Anthony, Yinka, Madonna and Monica and chef Bakka, not to mention the wonderful management team Matthew and David.

We'll definitely be back to Palm Island. It has everything you need for an authentic bit of secluded paradise.

Room Tip: You just have to be by the ocean......

Just back from 7-days in Palm Island after 7-days in Barbados. What a fantastic resort. If you want great / excellent service, very friendly people, great food & accommodation and an environment that encourages relaxation and well being - look no further. We will be back.

Room Tip: We had a garden facing room - which was quiet and very comfortable. How much time do you spend in y...

Read this review and and you won't have to read a hundred reviews to decide whether to go or not. GO!! Is this a five star resort? No.. Is the food the best you ever had? No..But it is very, very good and they don't over feed you here. Sensible portions, but you can order as much as you want. If your looking to be stuffed cruise ship style you won't be happy. The service is top notch as soon as you step off the boat. The staff and the beauty of this island are what make it so wonderful. And you will come to love the staff and how hard the work to please you. The office manager, Cecilia, and her group know all your needs before you arrive. Yes the rooms are bit old but they fit right in with its carribean setting. Big rooms with a huge walk in shower, A/C, ceiling fans, a small fridge they restock with beer, soda and fruit drinks. The patio out in front of every room is great and you will use it! The beach is beautiful with great views of near by islands and sailing vessels. There is plenty of shade if you want it and of course TONS of sun!! Free hobie cats to sail, Kayaks and island bikes. I even played "Island Golf" with new friends from Canada and England. And the pool is great with a nice breeze in the afternoon. The restaurants and bars are very nice. I don't play tennis, but the court looked in pristine condition. You can take day trips to Tobago Cays (aboard Yannis), Petite St. Vincent for lunch, Union Island. You can do as much as you want or as little as you want. There is entertainment almost every nite and great people to meet. You will want to go again! If you are a super snob who eats with golden spoons you may be a bit dissapointed like some reviewers have written The downsides are not enough beer choices and The Pink Lady boat needs to be retired or replaced with a newer boat that has a head for guest. You'll make great new friends and have a fantastic time!!! GO!!

Room Tip: There are no bad rooms! Most are ocean front cottages.

We only booked to stay here for 4 night. Next time we want a minimum of 7 days. It was truly a perfect paradise.
We were worried that we might get bored visiting the same food spots and we expressed that in our booking, the Chef didnt let us down we were delighed with every meal.
Nothing was too much trouble and we wouldnt hesitate to recommend our closest friends to stay here.
Snorkelling is a must, taking a boat trip is really worthwhile as it transports you to a whole different underwater world. So magical.

Room Tip: beach lofts
