Nani is a family-owned restaurant in the center of Cagli. The restaurant owners are very friendly and warm people. It is probably a matter of taste but personally I was a bit disturbed by the constant stream of their friends and family that passed by during the evening but it could have been exceptional. We were also surprised to find only three tables occupied, so the restaurant was very quiet. We chose this restaurant since it claims to use fresh and biological products from the region. Everything we had was reasonable but not exceptional. We found it lacked a bit of creativity.
As antipasti we had frittata with truffle and fried vegetables which both were a bit bland for our taste. As the main course we chose roast beef, which was cold to our disappointment, and grilled chicken, which tasted dry. Side dishes of salad, grilled zucchini and beans with potatoes were quite good. The desserts (ice cream and panna cotta) were fine as well but again we missed some creativity. The wine list is nice and reasonably priced, we especially appreciated the local producers wines on the list, such as Mocchi. All in all, we had a nice dinner, even if we expected more, and for a small place like Cagli it is a good restaurant.
