Eating and supermarket shopping in holetown

Hi we arrive on 8 July, should be in villa around 7.30pm all being well. Is there anywhere nearby in holetown where we can get a quick bite to eat and a supermarket where we can stock up on basics that will still be open.

Thanks in advance.

Holetown is full of restaurants of all prices. and a major Supermarket in West Mall in the centre of Holetown opposite the Police Station and Beach.

Most restaurants are on 1st and 2nd Street opposite the Limegrove Lifestyle Centre ( a huge cluster of buildings on the main coast road you cannot miss ) , and for a first night meal I would recommend Spago Italian restaurant ( best pizzas ever ) on 2nd Street, or Angry Annies on 1st Street. Street. Alternatively to get your first taste of the beach, go to Surfside Restaurant and Bar behind the Police Station right on the beach, or virtually next door, you will find Zaccios also on the beach.

There are many more restaurants to choose from. but others like the Elbow Room, Mews, Nishi , the beach House, and especially Tides ( one of the best on the Island) are more expensive and deserve a more leisurely night out. There is also a Greek Restaurant called Opa in Limegrove and Café Charisma for Tapas in the centre of the Chattel House Shops and a wine bar that also sells Sushi called Lexy's on 1st Street ( this is also one of the most popular late night bars.) Another good place for lunch is Indigos upstairs in the yellow building opposite the gas station on the sea side of the road.and there are several more cafe's in Limegrove itself, along with a lovely bar where you can get very yummy snacks.

If you fancy a Chinese / Tai Take away, either on the first night, or later in you holiday, visit Asian Palm on 1st Street but watch the portions ---they are HUGE., or Posh Nosh for home cooked ready meals, cooked by ladies who previously owned a very popular restaurant. New York Pizza is also by Posh Nosh just behind the Rubis Gas Station which incidentally also has a Kentuckey Fried Chicken attached to it. Another must do on your holiday is a visit to Ragamuffins on 1st Street especially on a Sunday night, for their wonderful Drag Show. Book a table and have a meal early to watch the show at leisure , and if you ever fancy a curry, you can visit Sitar, which is in the Gap between 1st and 2nd Street.

I think that about does it, apart from if you fancy a morning coffee and a pastry, for which you can visit Cafe' Flindt at the top of 1st Street, or the Bean and Bagel which you find in the Mall before you do your shopping at Supercentre and buy your take away lunch from their Deli .

Oh, and if Supercentre is closed on your first night, you can buy your essentials from the Rubis Gas Station.

We usually head for Just Grillin' on our first night, It's more or less opposite the Beach House. Casual and relaxed with Fish, Chicken & Steak etc. on the menu. Reasonably priced and the beers are quite cheap also.

Saw Sir Cliff in there just before last Christmas...so if it's good enough for him....

Same here we love Just Grillin - if it's good enough for Sir Cliff then who are we to argue?

For another of Sir Cliff's favourite restaurants go to Bombas during your stay. It's the Rasta coloured Chattel house on Road View just above Mullins Beach. That is where some of the photos in his 2013 Calendar were shot.

Have one of Wayne's Curries--------------------they are world famous and very yummy.

July 8th is a Monday therefore Super Centre Sunset Crest will be open from 8am to 8pm on that day. The Rubis Gas Station is 24 hours and sells all necessities. I would also suggest visiting M&S Simply Food at the airport before departing to pick up certain items like coffee, tea, biscuits etc.

BGIWT I think the OP is probably flying from Manchester on the Monday flight, no M & S at Man.
