It's about 12 - 14 miles from keflos. Because Zia is off the beaten track, i would suggest a taxi, or hire a car as being best. I don't know what times the buses run till or if they go all the way to Zia.

Also it's brobably best to go in time to see the sunset.

You can travel up to Zia usually on a Sunday evening with the Kefalos tour shop. ( situated on the road towards the harbour ) . The pick up time is approx 5.30pmish and return is usually about 9pm from Zia. You will have time to browse all of the quaint shops and have dinner and take in the sunset. There is also a separate tour up to zia which is the Greek night tour. This includes a short stop in the village itself then a short drive back down to the venue which is called Fantazia where a full night of greek food wine and entertainment greek style is provided with lots of dancing. This tour is a later finish usually 11ish . agree with others that a taxi would be expensive. hope this helps.

Whatever way you do it it's well worth the time and money. Fabulous jewellery shop!! Lots of good shops and restaurants . As you come into the village going uphill the one on your right is fabulous but pricey and needs booking as soon as you get there to ensure a table. The one opposite is not as brilliant but still excellent and a lot cheaper !

Our favourite restaurant in Zia is Olympia which is at the very top of the village around to the right. More traditional food than many of the others and much used by locals but very often missed by visitors as it is a bit out of the way.

As already said, take a tour bus up there. Saves all the hassle of driving or waiting for a taxi. We waited over an hour for a taxi on one visit. You can always take another trip if you feel you want to go again.
