As part of a two week trip next September we will be be basing ourselves in Lucignano for 6 days. We will have a car. We want to take time to slowly explore the 'real' countryside and see some of the less travelled areas by taking day trips out and wandering around on foot. Don't mind doing a couple of the major towns (Siena for instance) but we've been to Florence and don't really want to go back this time. It's more about countryside, villages and rustic eating. Unfortunately we're not Italian speakers so this will limit us to some extent but I'm sure we'll get by.
Any recommendations for places to go, things to see etc. warmly received.
