Argegno ferries

Hi we were thinking of staying in Argegno and want to spend a lot of our time on the lake around the villages, apart from Como who would have the most frequent ferry service for foot and car, Menaggio, Bellagio, Varenna or Argegno.

Many thanks

1. Re: Argegno ferries

The most frequent boat service is Bellagio. On the summer schedules about 100 boats a day.

Varenna is second,

Menaggio is probably third but the boats stop calling at Menaggio around 7:00pm. (However, ferries contine to call at Cadenabbia until 10 ish.)

Oh yeah only passenger boats call at Argegno. The combined Car /truck/passenger ferries call at only Bellagio, Varenna and the west side (Cadenabbia or Menaggio).

3. Re: Argegno ferries

You need to research when the boat service changes from summer schedule to winter schedule.Probaly around mid october.

On the summer schedule, the 'mid-lake shuttle' does a circuit every 60 minutes : Tremmezzo, Bellagio, VArennea, Menaggio and Lenno.

I would think that would be more convenient than Argegno.

4. Re: Argegno ferries

Hello

I am staying at Argengo next May and would like to take a river ferry in the evening to a nice restaurant / bar.

Is Lenno close by / easy to get to from Argengo in the evening? If not how about Bellagio (or somewhere else with restaurant/bars and possibly some dancing?)

Lastly, what time do the river ferries run until?

Thanks

Chelsie
