Time to Kill

Hi TA Members

Firstly, thank you for your invaluable help as always in helping us to plan our trip.

A poser for you. We fly into Maykonos at 13.00 hrs on Tuesday 16th July and do not onward connect with the Seajet Ferry (if it on time) to Naxos until 17.45.

We are a family of 5 (3 teenage children) and were wondering what we can do to kill time whilst we wait for the ferry. We are travelling with backpacks and 1 suitcase. Any suggestions would be welcome.

We were wondering about contacting our accomodation for our Mykonos leg of the trip but was not too sure if this would be a reasonable request.

Many thanks.

Sea & Sky Travel agency has an office on the road outside the entrance to the Old Port, where you have to catch the Seajet. They have a luggage storage service. I suggest you take a taxi from the airport to there, drop off your bags, and spend your time exploring Mykonos Town. There is plenty to see right in the Town and it's all within short walking distance of the port. As your departure time approaches, you just return to the travel office for your bags and you'll have to carry/pull them only a short walk to the ferry queue area.

donnyb's advice is absolutely spot on, as always. Bear in mind that there could be a considerable wait for the tax, this being (almost) peak season. As for your comment about ' contacting our accomodation for our Mykonos leg of the trip', I would recommend dropping this idea. You may confuse the accommodation owners who will already be extremely busy at this time of year. As you have plenty of time for lunch before your Sea Jet, donnyb's suggestions on previous posts are well worth following up.

Previous post. Er sorry I meant taxi, not tax. I expect you've had enough of that.

According to the Openseas website that ferry is at 18:50, not 17:45 so you have more time than you thought. You've time to walk into Mykonos town and look at the sights, or if you would prefer to relax there's a small beach that you will find if you walk into town.

Most important, make sure you are at the right terminal for your ferry, there are three and if you miss you are screwed!

Someone on a previous post said they had a long wait and contacted Makis Place at the new harbour area, who agreed to pick 5 of them up from the port, transfer them back to his place which has a pool and then took them back to the port for there onward ferry. He provided towels for the pool ,and they also have a very reasonable restaurant at which you could all eat.I think he charged them roughly 12 euros each which is very reasonable
