getting to koh yao noi for a day trip

Travelling in family of five- can you do a day trip from Kata to Koh Yao Noi ? If so does anyone have recommendations for guide/ travelling time method etc? Is it better to do just as our group / faster with only a guide? thanks

If it`s cycling have a look at amazingbiketoursthailand.asia/kohyaonoi.php

There are not many touristy places to visit, it`s really just empty roads, great people, quiet beaches and fantastic scenery.

You could taxi your group up to Bang Rong and ferry over on the speedboats. At the pier there are drivers who could show you round the island. Ferrys start about 7:30 and last one back just after 4pm.

Is it possible to use Ko Yao Noi as a basis to explore the area of Railay/Ao Phang-Nga and Phi Phi? It seems like a very centrally located island, but I don't read many people staying there to explore the other islands.

Thanks!!

From Kata you will need to get transport to Bang Rong pier which is about 35 minutes drive. Should not cost more than 700 baht. Foreigners pay a 10 baht entry fee to the ferry terminal. From there, you can catch a speed boat ferry (200 baht per person), which will take 20 minutes to reach Koh Yao Yai and from then another 2 minutes to Koh Yao Noi.

Or you can catch a slower ferry for 50 baht and takes an hour.

You can arrange a tuk tuk hire before you go and they will drive you around the island.

Another alternative is to hire a long tail and do a general tour of Phang Nga bay. One beautiful karst island is Koh Lading, which has beautifully clear water to snorkel in.

Enjoy! :)
