can anyone also tell me where the 2 bed kids den apartments are situtated, we have just booked a holiday here on 26th august this year for a week, and can't wait it's my first holiday with my boyfriend and son abroad and really excited, was wondering is there much to do in evening as we like a lil drink and nights out? are the kids den rooms good? we paid a bit extra for one? the apartments look lovely, which side are the refurbished aparts on x

Certainly until last season all the kids den apartments were on the Mestral side .I do not know if they have created any more but the original ones were close to the splashpool area.

Re which are the refurbished apartments, the answer so far as I know is ALL of them. I sent an email to the SETHotel management in October 2012 specifically asking which blocks would be done for summer 2013 and their reply was (direct quote) "...Thank you for your e-mail ....... the summer of 2013 all the apartments (Mestral & Llebeig) will be refurbished. So you can book any apartment of 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms...."

I have just answered the taxi to Son Bou question in detail on your other post. but going to Son Bou in the evening would be a drive only option as the footpath is unlit and therefore unsafe in the dark especially with a 6 year old. To be honest I personally wouldn't think it was worth the cost just for an evening out

Santo Tomas is a very quiet resort - see Top Question "is Menorca for me" on the main island forum page for info on all the resorts . Basically it has four big hotels of which only The Victoria Playa is a family hotel, there is one aparthotel specialising in the Italian market , a number of large detached villas and a couple of apartment complexes of which M&L is the largest. It is not a place buzzing with things to do in the evening in fact the Victoria Playa and the M&L entertainment complex ( called Las Dunas)are the busiest places TBH. Other than those places ,there is a small quiet bar called Bar Halley near the chemist and a bar (Nicos) by the Mestral pool area ( just across form the kids den rooms ) but other than that it is very sleepy, there are no kareoke places or the like as that is not what Santo T is about (thank goodness)

You will be offered upgrades for meal deal arrangements when you arrive and you can pay to eat in the M&L food area ( Las Dunas) but otherwise there is Restaurante Es Pins ( near the VP hotel) the Emma Hamilton, Malibou, the little cafe in the Edifcio Migorn shopping parade, Ca'n Berto, Don Tomas and Es Bruc to go to for meals out. The Hotel Santo Tomas lets non resident dine there for a fixed fee. Most places offer a kiddies menu

Hi Menorca regular, my wife and i along with our Daughter and four year old Grandaughter are staying at the M&L aparts in late May.

Can you advise if there are towels provided for the pool? Is there a hairdryer in the two bed s/c aparts?

I do not know if they have added hairdryers to the apartment equipment since refurbishing them recently, but they never used to provide a hairdryer. It was the same with pool towels although more and more places these days are starting to offer a pool towel hire service so this too may be available this year - can I suggest that you email them to check - it is mestral@sethotels.com.

If you are emailing them anyway and want to be on the quiet side of the complex I suggest that you add a special request to your email asking for a pool facing Llebeig side apartment

I emailed them as you suggested and rec'd a prompt reply saying there are hairdryers in the apartments but pool towels are not supplied.

this year will our 4th year in a row staying in these aparts, have always found them a very good size, clean & well maintained both inside & the surrounding grounds, staff always helpful & attentive, last yr we had ants going across our balconey , qwick visit to reception & a tin of ant spray sorted it, I have a 6 & 7 year old who have loved it here every year & as far as im concerned if they are content & happy I am. I look forward to seeing the newly refurbed rooms this yr
