In September 2010 we took a bus from Lucca to Barga and stayed at Casa Cordati, which is actually a Museum! We climbed up the two flights of stairs to the attic, where we saw two hammocks, and I said, "Well, I DiD ask for two beds, Louise!" The look on her face was priceless! Then I pointed to a door in the attic which opened to a spacious apartment that actually slept four. It was clean and roomy, with a couch and rocking chair in front of the fireplace, and a table and chairs for a light meal. The view of the Duomo from the window was truly lovely, and our host, Giordano was very pleasant. He is the grandson of a prolific artist, whose work is displayed on the 2nd floor. If you've never stayed in a museum before, don't miss this opportunity. The rate was reasonable and the accomodations most comfortable.
