calm catamaran sail?

How calm are the waters on a catamaran tour close to the pitons. Do we have to worry about sea sickness?

Depends on time of year, current ocean conditions, where you are sailing from and size of boat you are on. If sailing out of VF towards the Pitons/Soufriere area, then yes, no matter what time of year, expect some swells out of VF harbor and around the south tip. As you are posting in the VF sub-forum, I am making an assumption there, although I don't know of any companies with cats sailing from VF.

If sailing from the Soufriere bay, much less swells, but there are times it can have some movement.

Sailing out of Castries or Rodney Bay, again- some chance of decent swells, but overall calmer than out of VF. It is very much a changeable condition though - Mon this week some some relatively rough seas and heavy swells down here in the south;Tuesday, almost glass-like. You rolls your dice and takes your chances!!

If you are prone to motion sickness, then come prepared!

Enjoy your visit.

Rees princess. We had waves at Windjammer on Monday right up to Jammers bar. Swimming there was quite a drift! On island now!

LOL - awesome!! Must have been a bit more exciting than normal! Yeah, Monday was some heavy seas, the water was up and over the inshore reef at Laborie beach and lapping all the way up to the grass - which is extremely rare. Tuesday though, and had a few kids out actually surfing - in Laborie Bay! It was fun!

Tuesday though, like glass - calm, calm, calm, absolutely no white tops, just floated and floated around almost in one place.

I do love how different it can be from day to day - it's part of the fun!

Bon jou Nanci B B,

Don't worry. Be happy that catamarans, with 2 hulls, are much more stable than a mono.

Bless up! Paul
