Are they are bars and restaurants that are suitable and safe for tourists in Vieux Fort and if so which can anyone suggest. What type of shops are there in Vieux Fort.Is there a Liqueur store( selling local rum) , a Chemist , a small supermarket and a bank to change sterling or travelers cheques.

We stayed at the coconut and vieux ft was a 20 min walk but their was a bar about 2 blocks away from the coconut.
We ate and drank at our hotel as it was an allinclusive
Any time w e went out on an excursion we always passed vieux ft never stopped looked like a very small town

Yes, there are grocery stores, liquor stores, drug stores, and restaurants all around Vieux Fort, In an easy 20 minute walk from the resort you will pass 4 beach bars - each with food and drink and then pass Uptown's Liquor store wchich has a wide selection of all the local rums and such along with international brands at very good prices. Once past that, you will come to the round a bout and on the right will be a small "mall" with Super J grocery store and M & C pharmacy.
Very safe to walk to and from, etc - and very scenic along the Atlantic coast. Enjoy your visits.
