Cocunut Bay resort/Viuex Fort. Money exchange.

when staying at the Cocunut Bay resort are you able to exchange sterling binto the local currency. Alternatively is there a Bank in Vieux Fort where you can exchange sterling in the Caribean dollars.

we do not want to pay exchange rate twice by exchanging ito US dollars in the Uk and then back into the local currency in St Lucia.

do not change your money to US, bring UK travellers' cheques and cash / exchange them at a local bank

Bank of St Lucia operates an Exchange Bureau at the airport and has a branch in Vieux Fort - http://www.bankofsaintlucia.com/

Scotiabank also has a branch in Vieux Fort - scotiabank.com/lc/cda/index/0,,LIDen,00.html

Vieux Fort is a 25 to 30 minute walk from CB, whereas the airport is about 10 minutes or less on foot, so even if the airport location is not open when you arrive, you can always walk over later on.

there is a bank branch right at the airport where you can easily change over your Travelers Cheques or Cash. There is both a window in the arrivals hall and a counter outside in the arrivals area where cabs and transfers are located.

VF has several bank branches and is about a 20 minute walk or so. No problem there. DO NOT change $$ at the hotel if you can avoid it - all the banks have the same exchange rate, but the hotels will be much, much lower.

enjoy!
