Reasonable overnight stay on way to Osa?

Arriving in San Jose mid-afternoon and heading to Puerto Jimenez area. Would like to overnight in Dominical or Uvita on the way. Just clean, quiet ,and reasonable accommodation necessary. Suggestions??

Reasonable is a tough call in the area, as most hotel management think they have a piece of gold, but Mikhail at Domilocos tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g313829-d806907… is the most down to earth. Clean, close to the beach, and quiet..then this fits your needs. Many stay for months at this hotel, even breakfast was good and hot.

Have a safe journey.

There is a large choice for all budgets in the Uvita area, and some very reasonable. Have a look on TA pagages for

Uvita: tripadvisor.com/Tourism-g635755-Uvita_Provin…

Ojochal: tripadvisor.com/Tourism-g1022300-Ojochal_Pro…

and

Dominical: tripadvisor.com/Tourism-g313829-Dominical_Pr…

All 3 towns are relativly close to each other and the 3 listings cover most of the accomodations in the area.

Not sure I would recommend driving as far as Uvita if you arrive mid-afternoon. By the time you clear immigration, collect your luggage, clear customs, and complete your car rental paperwork, you would only have 1-2 hours of daylight left. Uvita is a four hour drive.

I would recommend driving only as far as Jaco or the surrounding area, then getting an early start.

Actually, I would recommend staying overnight in the SJO area, then grabbing an early morning flight to Puerto Jimenez and then renting a vehicle there.

Agree with Racandee...maybe nice to even try to get to Jaco or the most Manuel Antonio...incredible nice places around UVITA and Dominical and really are worth it many pieces of gold!
