Prebooking Accomodation in Rhodes?

We are traveling by ferry to Rhodes. I have heard we can get accomodation at the dock on arrival from people offering B&B's style accomodation. Is this true or should we pre book accomodation?

I am going late June to early July. Is it a good idea to book accomodation in advance, or is it cheaper or otherwise better to hunt for accomodation upon arrival?

I would book in advance. Rhodes town is large with accomodations spread around. On the few occasions I have arrived Rhodes by ferry I didn't see any room renters waiting.

Hi kalabalik,

I asked the first question. We ended up getting off the ferry and searching around the city for our own accommodation. Go to the new part towards the casino/beach. There are plenty of options between 30 and 50 euros a night. We ended up choosing the Atlantis city hotel. Hotel was modern and clean with good wifi. If you stay there, nearby is a great bar called christos garden bar you should check out.

Depends if you know your way around. If you are wandering in the heat for ages with luggage you will soon get fed up!

I'd recommend booking in advance. If not, and there's no-one to help, head to the tourist info office instead.
