Quad Rentals in Santa Teresa Costa Rica - Cost

Hi there,

I've seen a lot of seemingly pointless banter about whether or not you could rent a quad in Santa Teresa.... and in an effort to not come across like another insulting tourist "do they have running water.." etc. "Do they have cars?"

OBVIOUSLY you can rent vehicles here, its only Costa Rica people! Even in India i had no problem renting vehicles. All I would like to know is the cost to rent these quads??

It varies a bit, but generally for a 1/2 day it's around $50, a full day $70, for 3+ days it's $60/day and for 6+ days it's $50/day. Plus any gas you use. Generally no shortage of ATV rentals in this town as long as you're not coming during a peak week...Depending on where you're staying the hotel can usually organize this and have them delivered to the property too. If you're coming during peak periods (like xmas/easter) it's a good idea to reserve one.

if you do rent a quad please be mindful of the people that may be walking on these dirt roads and the amount of dust that travels when driving on these roads :)

haha a little obvious, but thank you - I guess you do get a lot of Americans traveling down there, so the advice is warranted.

Definitely warranted. You see, we don't have quads in the USA (which I'm assuming you're referring to from your "Americans" comment, even though the term encompasses a region of 36 countries to include Costa Rica). We don't have dirt bikes or motorcycles either, so make sure you don't let your guard down if you see one of those approaching. We actually have only recently adapted the ability to operate motorized vehicles with the evolutionary development of opposable thumbs. Please continue to be patient with us as we learn to control these mechanical, wheeled, horse-machines and if luck will have it no pedestrians will be endangered in the process.

We'll return the virtue of patience towards Canadians that are trying to learn to surf ;)

For anyone still trying to get info about quads, try to negotiate the price - some places will do weekly rentals for sub $300.
