we are two families of four travelling to Santa Teresa in July. We will be there for a week. What are some of the activities we should do? We will have a car to get around if there is stuff nearby also. We are active types, plan to surf and paddle board also. One more possibly silly question, but I'll risk it: are crocodiles an issue? Thanks!

Since you have a vehicle, you can do a day trip over to Montezuma and check out the Butterfly Gardens, zip-line (also one in Mal Pais), hike Cabo Blanco Park, hike to the waterfalls. Do a boat trip to Isla Tortuga, horseback riding tours, quad tours, yoga, pilates, sportfishing, snorkeling......or just hang out in a hammock and enjoy the scenery and be sure to watch the daily sunsets! There is a lot to do! Although July is usually our 'little summer' try to schedule your outdoor activities for the morning and early afternoon as it may rain in the latter part of the afternoon. You can arrange your activities when you get to Santa Teresa. Enjoy your vacation!
Pura vida! You and your families are going to love this little piece of paradise. On Sundays, Rocamar hosts a family fun day. Nice music by Pura Sonica, kids running on the beach, and all the adults kicking back. Great get together and everyone's welcome. If you are looking for family surf lessons, ask for Kelsey at Costa Rica Surf & SUP. Safe, fun, colorful surfboards, and lots of wave riding. Very worthwhile is paddle boarding, especially on the river in Manzanillo. No crocs! In front of El Rey Patricio in Playa Hermosa are awesome tide pools. Go at low tide and check out the fish, plant life, hot pools. Hope you are getting stoked on your vacation!
