Geysers in the South Island?

Hi, thought I saw some pictures of geysers and hot mud pools in the South Island. Can't find any links now. Do they exist? :)

No, all geysers and mud pools are in the Central North Island. There are thermal hot pools, e.g. Lewis Pass and Hanmer Springs, but no mud.

Possibly you mistaken a picture of the blow holes at Punakaki. When the sea is rough and particulaily at high tide the put on a great display

As above for thermal activity, check out Hanmer Springs hot pools, or if you would like a japanese bath house experience, then go to Maruia Springs near the summit of lewis pass

Hi,

The Kiwis are very accommodating if you contact this mob they may dig a geyser for you to save visiting the North Island.
