Trip to Laoag, Pagudpud, Paoay and Vigan

Greetings! We, together with my uncle and aunt (in their late sixties) are planning a trip to Laoag to see the city, as well as Pagudpud, Paoay and an overnight stay in Vigan.

We will be arriving in Laoag airport and we wanted to know any budget hotel (double room for 1,000 to 1,500) which is easy to get to from the airport? How does one travel? Taxi? Jeepney? Tricycle?

Can anyone recommend a reliable tour contact where we can hire a car, for the 3 of us, to visit Paoay and Pagudpud? What are the recommended sites to visit?

We would like to get a bus on our 3rd day to spend an evening in Vigan. Is this easy for us to travel to Vigan from Laoag?

Hoping for some great advice from you all. Thanks for your kindness.

wadup!

that sounds like a pretty cool trip u have planned there, i did something similar not too long ago. I stayed at the Hotel Tiffany Laoag which was under 1000 Peso for 3 of us, check out my review theres a few pics also. Its in a good location close to most things & quiet at night. u can easily get a jeepney there from the airport to Laoag & ask for directions when u arrive or tricycle if u dont want any hassle.

If u wanna get to the beautiful Paoay church u can jump on a Jeepney, they are pretty reliable & so cheap it would seem like a sin. Im not filipino so i found going to Batac to see the dictator Marco's embalmed body worth doing, now the question that everyone asks is, is it his real body? try & answer it, u could argue for days. Marcos's Malacañang Of The North was the family mansion near Fort Ilocandia Resort & Casino where he built that building just for his daughters wedding reception. i should have reviews of these up soon.

You will not have too much trouble finding transport to Vigan which i didnt do but i doubt it will be hard, its a matter of booking a ticket no?

Safe travelling

in Vigan the mode of transport are tricycle and Calesa (Php150 per hour). there are a lot of small hotelsin Vigan near the Heritage Village (where the old structures are located, some accommodation includes breakfast) so just ask the driver to take you there directly and then ask the locals where the hotls are as they will all be walking distance.

if you get confused, the Tourism Office is just outside the Heritage Village so just drop by and ask them questions. don't miss visiting:of course, the Heritage Village, Baluarte (zoo owned by Chavit Singson), drop by the potteries (the one who makes jars made of clay in front of you, you can even try to mold one yourself for free), visit some old churches and taste Vigan products (like the Basi wine, Tinubong - glutinous rice in bamboo sticks, empanada).

enjoy your trip!
