There's a very short bit you can get to from the parking lot for the Zion Overlook Trailhead. This parking lot is just east of the mouth of the tunnel on Rt 9. Instead of crossing the street for the trailhead you just go down off the edge in front of the cars. Might need to hold the little one's hands down that slope but it's not too bad. When you get to the bottom you can make a right and go for a little while before reaching some nasty potholes then turn around and head upstream. The slot goes a little ways before it arcs back towards the road, you can take the road back to the parking lot or return the way you came. I'd return the same way to avoid the traffic.

Please be aware that the parking lot may be full or under construction as they always seem to be up to something over there. Don't hike the slot if it's threatening to rain, that little slot canyon gets savage flash floods.

The grandfather of all slot canyons is the Narrows. Easy to get to, easy to hike. Not all that tight or narrow, but pretty spectacular. Many slot canyons near Zion require technical skills and rapelling on ropes.

Are the Narrows open this time of year?

Bottom up is usually open, just need to rent the equipment. Top down might be ,or not at all. Once it starts snowing, you can pretty much rule out a top down trip.

The slot that ducs of hazard mentioned:

zionnational-park.com/zion-park-clear-creek.…

also other options along SR 9 (hwy 9 column) can be explored via this hiking guide:

zionnational-park.com/hiking-zion-national-p…

Agree that the Zion Narrows would be the slot canyon to see, as it is one of the best you will find. Just familiarize yourself with the 'environment' of that hike beforehand, to know what to expect.
