Mt Washburn: Which trail to take?

It's finally here! We're leaving Monday morning for our trip to Yellowstone. On our list of "to do" is the hike to Mt Washburn. Does anyone have an opinion on which trail to take; the Chittenden road or Dunraven Pass? Which one is an easier hike? Which one would have more wildlife viewing?

It's pretty much a toss-up. One day you'll see better wildlife on one side, another day on the other side. People will have their favorites, of course, but there isn't really much difference.

We chose Dunraven Pass because we had read that it's more scenic. Also we liked the idea of hiking a road that's no longer maintained. The scenery is spectacular. We saw herds of elk in the meadows below the trail but no other wildlife (this was mid-August). No doubt you've read all about the hike so you know how cold and windy it is on top. Here's a link that's informative
