Newport first week of Feb

we are planning a trip here and staying at the Cliffside Inn which looks wonderful. My only concern is .. will there be much to do or is everything closed? are there are things to do or places to go nearby?

Thank you.

No, Newport does not close down in the winter. A few restaurants take some time off, but all the attractions are open. There is a winter fest in mid-Feb too.

Winter is when the locals really enjoy the town. Alll of the best restaurants are still open, since they are really good! Instead of sunset sailings we have an ice rink for skating. Night clubs are still going strong. You will have the best of both worlds.

the Cliffside is an excellent choice. We have stayed there many times.

agree that it is a great time...we are going down for Valentine's weekend...no visitors to speak of, really...the down side is that some things are closed or closed early. It's still a wonderful visit. and it might be wicked cold but that's why God invented coats, eh?
