No wings please

I want to take my friend somewhere really nice to eat when I am in Buffalo on Sunday. No wings, please! I used to LOVE Saki's but don't know if something of that ilk has opened since its really really sad demise. That's about the price range too....not too pricey but not a franchise like Chili's or anything.Really hoping that any city that had a Saki's has something special.

I would also highly reccomend the Chocolate Bar on Chippewa betwen Delaware and Elmwood in the Hampton. Their food is excellent, deserts to die for and a great martini menu. This place is one of my new favorite places downtown.

Also try Toro's on Elmwood. It's a tapas bar. Excellent food, great wine list. It can get pricey depending on what you order. But a friend and I went a few weeks ago, split two dishes and each had a glass of wine for about $15 each.

I like Brodos on Elmwood-it has a very small menu but they have wonderful soups and a great wine list.

I would chime in and promote Fiddleheads on Allen Street. Intimate, great menu and specials and moderate on the price scale. Try the Pork Tenderlion, amazing. Good wine selection as well.

Personally, I think that Toro is WAY overpriced for what you get! The last time I was there, 2 glasses of wine and a cheese platter was $40 with tip! Think about the Allen Stree hardware; it's young, and it's swanky! http://artvoice.com/menus/allen_st_hardware, buffalorising.com/yum/archives/2006/08/break…

However, I just had one of the most wonderful dining experiences in a long time at a place called La Tee Da in Allentown

If you are still in the mood there is a new Sushi bar on Elmwood, Kibarashi Sushi Bar. I have never eaten there but there is always a line. Pangaea is on Hertle ave in North Buffalo. buffalorising.com/yum/archives/2006/08/live_…

regardless of a spot, Buffalo has MANY MANY great options, you'll find something@!
