Rental car tires & driving to the Canyon

In late mid-late November we'll be renting a car from sky harbor with plans to drive up to flagstaff for a couple nights and also visit the Grand Canyon.

I am comfortable driving in a bit of snow, but I am also aware that sometimes warm locales such as phoenix don't really prep themselves for snow driving.

1) Will the car likely come with All-seasons?

2) How bad might the snow be in flagstaff (or anywhere between phoenix and the GC)? Is it just like, a couple hours and it will either melt away or be plowed - or can there be significant snowfalls that time of year?

Snow in November is rare, but it can happen. All of the roads to and from GCNP are good paved highways. The best advice is to avoid driving during an active snow storm. You will not be able to avoid warnings if there is even a remote possibility. There will be signs along I-17 from below Sedona that only a sleeping driver could miss. it will be all over the news and weather forecasts.

If there are warnings you should get off the highway and wait for an all clear report. www.az511.com

Storms in AZ are generally fast moving, potentially heavy, and roads get cleared within 24 hours of the event.
