Picture location

Hello all, I am headed up to Santa Fe at the end of the month, and I was wondering if anyone knew of a location not far from the city that had similar scenery to that of these pictures- …wordpress.com/2010/11/14/154/. Specifically the rocks/highway ones. I appreciate any help!

1. Re: Picture location

I can pretty much tell you the actual (or close to actual) locations of most of the photos. The road, rocks and desert photos look like the area south of Santa Fe on Highway 14 between the State Pen and the town of Cerrillos. Turn right at Lone Butte Store to see some very similar roads, Eaves Ranch Movie Ranch. Also further south is an outcrop of rocks http://www.sculpturegarden.com/

, In the town of Cerrillos is Cerrillos Hills State Park. http://www.turquoisetrail.org/

Also Tent Rocks Nat Monument has some very interesting rock formations.

The town photos are all taken in and around the Santa Fe Plaza.

2. Re: Picture location

If you are flying into Albuquerque, you can take NM14 either to or from Santa Fe. A couple of shots look like they might be off the Waldo Junction road, but not sure. There are great volcanic formations at Kasha-Katuwe Tent Rocks as Casa says and also on the way and in Bandelier National Monument.

Frankly, would be hard not to get some nice scenes whether you go north, south, east or west!
