I just got back from a vacation in Taos and Santa Fe last week.
Restaurants in Santa Fe:
The Shed was pretty good, not exceptional. The "famous" Pink Adobe had such slow service, we didn't get our beverages for 40 minutes and food took about 20 minutes longer and they weren't even busy. A great meal was had at the Blue Corn Cafe, right near the Plaza. Excellent food, good service and reasonable prices.
In Taos, the best breakfast and where all the locals seem to eat is Michael's on the main street in town.
Word of warning: I noticed that the food tends to be on the spicy side at all of the restaurants we ate at. Luckily I enjoyed it but if you can't tolerate spicy food, order accordingly. Most menus had a note on them warning that the food is spicy.
Have a wonderful time.
