Looking for easy to moderate 1.5 hour hike near Providence

Hi,

We are driving from Boston to West Haven tomorrow & would like to stop off approx half way to do an easy to moderate 1 to 1 and a half hour nature hike, preferably with good foliage too. We don't want to detour too much from our route. We would welcome suggestions.

Thanks very much!!

You could try Trustom Pond wildlife refuge on Matunuck Schoolhouse Rd. in South Kingstown. There are two trails there. Round trip, each trail is about a mile. Our foliage down on the south coast of RI is late this year although you would definitely see at least some on your hike through the refuge.

Arcadia Management Area is an enormous area, full of all sorts of terrain for hiking. Its not far from 95. The Mount Tom Trail and Breakheart Trail are two that are particularly well known. Be on the lookout for mountain bikes on the trails too. You would definitely see foliage around there.
