Campfire Dinner, Sing-along suggestions

Our family (7 adults, 5 kids under 10 yrs old) will be in the Estes Park area in July 2012. We are looking to schedule or participate in a campfire dinner (something better than hot dogs), sing-along, maybe a few ghost stories, smores... The private home we have rented does not allow campfires, so we are looking for a suitable location or host for such a fun family friendly evening.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

You might try asking the good folks at http://www.estesparkcvb.com

I am sure the DE's would have ideas. Though it sounds like something they might do at the YMCA

ymcarockies.org/estes-park-center-colorado.h… but you may have to be a guest to participate???

A couple of the stables offer steak rides which might fit the bill. Elkhorn Lodge last year offered a cowboy styled dinner with cowboy performers/music indoors, with smores, etc at an outside fire afterwards with some cowboy strolling the guitar and entertaining.

Like the Elkhorn Lodge, Elk Meadow RV Park has done a chuck wagon dinner with entertainment in the past. As plz said, Sombrero Ranch does a trail ride dinner. www.sombrero.com

Sylvan Dale guest ranch does a trail ride dinner also. They are about 40 minutes down dramatic Big Thompson Canyon from Estes. www.sylvandale.com

You can get day passes for $15 per person to participate in the Y's activities if you are not a member already. Guests staying at the "Y" have priority. I doubt there would be any openings for outside guests for their campfires.

Aspen Lodge used to do campfire dinners but they closed last fall and I have not heard if they are planning to reopen for the summer season.

www.rmna.org/rmna.cfm…

The Rocky Mountain Nature Association does campfire ghost stories at the "Y" and you do not have to pay the "Y" day pass fee to participate. There is a fee for RMNA. See the link.
