We will be flying out of SLC at the end of our Yellowstone Trip in late July. We will be leaving Colter Bay, WY and driving to SLC on a Thursday. Family of five w/ kids ages 13, 11, 10. My plan is to arrive in SLC by 4 pm and stay in a downtown Marriott where we can walk to Temple Square and hear the choir practice that night at 8 pm. Have not determined my route to SLC. If we want to see Antelope Island it seems most practical to do on the way in, but don't want to cram too much into this travel day. Can you access the Great Salt Lake from downtown w/ out driving that far north to Antelope Island the next day?
Suggestions for rest of stay? Friday and Sat night have reservations at a Marriott near Cottonwood. Thought we'd finish seeing downtown and see Lake and maybe explore Cottonwood Canyon. Would like to do some hiking where don't have to worry about grizzly bears. :)
On Sat though we'd go to Snowbird resort for the day where they have zipline, apline slide and tram ride- kids really looking forward to this. Then we fly out early Sunday am.
We have vacation points we could use at a Marriott resort in Park City. Would you suggest this over the Cottonwood/Snowbird plan? Is there just as much outdoor adventure package there we could do? The ride to the airport would be a little longer I think from Park City. I could do all three nights in Cottonwood or Park City, but since we wanted to see the choir late wanted to stay downtown where we could walk. Thanks for any advice.
