Lake Powell, Zion & Bryce 3 1/2 days

Leaving Las Vegas and have afew days to sight see. Staying in Springdale thought that was a good central location. Need restaurant suggestions, things to see and my husband is into astronomy so would like to see the stars! Thanks for your help!

If your husband is into astronomy, head to Bryce. Look at the NPS site for night sky programs.

Don't use Springdale as a base. For Zion stay Springdale, for Bryce stay Bryce, for Powell stay Page, although you really don't have time for all of them, with your time frame.

With 3.5 days, and your husbands astronomy interests, I would split Zion and Bryce 50/50. Bryce does not take long to explore, but if you want night skies, its the place to be.

Bryce is not known for its restaurants. Springdale has several very good places.Try Oscars, Spotted Dog, Whiptale Grill, Parallel 88.

Springdale is perfect as a base for Zion. It's a lousy base for Bryce and a horrible base for Page or Lake Powell. With 3 1/2 days I'd follow Dez's advice. Split the time in half. stay 2 nights at Springdale for Zion, then move to Bryce. Stay inside the park if you can, otherwise, choose Rubys facilities just outside the park.

You don't have enough time for all three destinations.

When are you travelling? It is helpful because in the Winter there are closures, especially as it relates to restaurants. The list Dez stated are good places, however Whiptail and Spotted Dog may be closed until March. I have been wanting to try the Vietnamese place. Wildcat Willies is average. Switchback grille is nice too, but again, is closed in the Winter.

Bryce is known for stargazing, primarily for its dark and uncluttered sky, but will be cold in Winter/Spring at night. Currently you will have to head for Ruby's Inn to find a restaurant. Reservations (if they take them)should be considered as they are one of the few options.

If you want a central location for those three it would be Kanab. But you do spend a lot of time driving if you do it that way.
