I have just come back from the lake, but used to work there many years ago. You will have a great time!
I would not suggest taking the houseboat to RB as others have said, if only for the cost of the fuel. However, the more important issue is time. The houseboats are slow in comparison with a speed boat, so unless you are planning to be out on the lake for a long time, you would be better advised to beach the houseboat and just use the powerboat to get around. If you take the house boat as far as Padre Bay, the powerboat journey to the bridge will be 45mins-1hr (maybe less if its calm). Dont forget to refuel at dangling rope marina as the powerboats only hold about 4hrs worth of gas.
If you have any other questions, i am happy for your to private message me.
Have a great trip
