Cafe at East Andrews |

Looking for comments on the Cafe at East Andrews. I'm planning a dinner there for a large group. It seems to get great reviews, but I can't find anything recent. Have you been there lately? Report as inappropriate |

I've been twice. I definitely would not rank it among the top 50 restaurants in Atlanta, but it fits its niche: it is a popular place among young Buckhead residents to see and be seen. It is usually lively but it is very spacious and is situated around a courtyard with a fountain. The interior decor is nothing exciting - I think I recall exposed brick, leather sofas, etc. I was underwhelmed by the food and thought the menu was unimaginative. It was fairly well executed, though. I do recall being irritated when I asked to see a martini menu and the bartender told me they didn't have one, but he could make whatever I wanted. I go to a restaurant to try their specialties and experience their creativity. If I wanted to invent my own recipe I coudl do that at home. I think that whether the restaurant fits your group's needs depends on the group. If you're looking for fine dining or exceptional food, this isn't it. If you're looking for something convenient to a location that can accomodate a large party and that is a good place for drinks, this would be a suitable choice. Report as inappropriate

You're welcome. I hope some others will post because mine is just one person's opinion. I looked to see if the local paper had done a review but they haven't which could be a sign of this restaurant's status in the foodie world. On atlantacitysearch.com however there are several reviews that are all across the board - some people really love this place while others don't so much. One clarification if it makes a difference - I realized that the Cafe at East Andrews is the downstairs part of the building. That's where I've been before but I though the upstairs area was part of the cafe too. It's not - the upstairs is just hte bar. Report as inappropriate
