I am in the early planning stages for accomodating a baseball team. We'll be playing in a tournament held during the College World Series next June and our games will be all over the Omaha area. I have narrowed down my choices to the following:

Country Inn and Suites Omaha West (miami Street)

Comfort Inn and Suites (Grover St)

Hilton Garden Inn west (Chicago Street)

Any thoughts on which is best for a group of 14 year old boys and their families? Walking distance to restaurants is a plus. Being close to a Target or Wal Mart is also a plus because we always need Gatorade and sunscreen! Easy access to Rosenbaltt is also in our plans.

Thanks for any help on this.

Have you checked existing availability for those dates yet? You may not have a choice. Don't wait to long or you'll be staying in Lincoln :(

Our tournament has blocked rooms. Any answer to the question?

For easy access to Rosenblatt the Comfort Inn wins as it's just a block north of I80 however walking to good restaurants maybe a little much.

Hilton Garden Inn would probably have the walkable restaurants in the Village Point area.

Country inn on Miami has a Culvers restaurant in the parking lot, they are a burger chain, and serve other food and ice cream as well. There is a Target about a mile away, and other restaurants there as well.

Check the reviews, the HGI is rated near the top while the Comfort Inn is very close to the bottom. We stayed at that HGI and will again. Pool area was nice/standard.

There is food, sit down & fast food all over and where there is food there is usually a walmart or target, & large grocery stores Bakers or Hyvee.

Thanks everyone for your responses. This will help our team decide, but it looks like HGI might be the place.

The best hotels in the Omaha area are Marriott hotels. There are about 7 in the area. Are you familiar with Omaha at all?

We have a specific tournament hotel list from which to choose. The only Mariott on it is a Courtyard in La Vista and it doesn't have breakfast included. Breakfast and in-room refrigerators are on our high priority list.

We are not familiar with Omaha at all, although we do have maps and AAA guidebooks.
