Our group of 4 adults (ages 50 to 60) will be in Anchorage from Sept 11 to Sept 13.
We would like to spend time in Anchorage or near Anchorage to get a "local feel" of the city and area.
FYI, our cruise would have ended and we would have been to Denali, leaving from Vancouver. We would have already taken excursions to see Glaciers.
Is there a lot to see in the city? Are there any nice scenic places to hike to or drive to nearby?
Also is there a good hotel that is within walking distance a lot of restraunts, bars, shopping that you would recommend? Somewhere around $150 to $200 per night if possible. Is midtown better than Downtown for walking around?
