DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET ROBBED!
I called B&B rental in July inquiring about a booking for Aug 21-27th. When I asked about return time, they said it was the same time as the pickup time. I agreed so I made the booking for a 22 footer RV. On August 21st, instead of getting the RV in the morning which we agreed on, my RV wasn't available until 3PM. The RV I was given was also not according to the terms of my contract, it was a much bigger and bulkier model - a 30 footer. Since I had a tight schedule and was already delayed as a result of their change, I didn't argue and signed the contract. I was also not given a copy of my contract. The night before my schedule return date, I called the B&B rental to discuss the exact return location and time, since they are using a temporary office which was not listed on their website or my sales receipt. The person answering the phone told me that the return time was 11AM, which was totally different than the original time that I was given. I tried to explain this to him but he was very dismissive and said just refer to the contract. However, I was never given a copy therefore had nothing to refer back to. We also had planned our trip according to the 3PM return time and was far away and couldn't make it back by 11AM. The next day, I tried to call B&B in the morning to let them know that I could be back earlier but they stopped taking my calls. Instead, I received a screaming text at 12PM saying that my due time is 11 and any hour after that is $200/hour late charge. My daily rental was only $130 so the $200/hour late fee seemed totally unreasonable. I was totally unaware of the fine print hidden in the contract that the terms impose these punitive penalties on the consumer. B&B made no effort during our entire transaction to inform me of these unfair and unconscionable terms, not even when I asked explicitly about the late return penalties. When I drove back to Anchorage and called them again about the return location as their temp. location is not listed, they still refused to take my calls. I drove the RV back to their old address and texted them saying I have brought the RV back and please come and meet us. They initially said stay put they are on their way but didn't show for another 45 minutes. I texted them again to ask their whereabouts and got a message saying just leave the RV there. They had no intention of coming to get us the entire time and lied about it. I felt deeply deceived by them from the very beginning. My credit card later was charged $600 for over time for less than 3 hours of supposedly LATE RETURN. This equates to 5 full days of rental fees. I was misled during my booking, given the wrong RV, mistreated and deceived during my entire dealing with B&B rental. I believe the retailer didn't act in good faith when they provided me a normal looking contract that was full of unfair and unconscionable terms and charged my credit card without my consent an exorbitant amount of fees. This is a classical case of fraud and I can't believe they are still in operation and cheating on other customers. I am taking this case up with the AK general attoney's office and working to shut them down.
