Bringing food to the USA

We would like to bring some food from Italy (canned tuna fish, cereals in commercial packaging, spaghetti sauces that contain meat in hermetically sealed glass containers). Are these items allowed? Is there any food quantity limit for personal use?

Thank you

Here is a link that may be helpful.

If you do not declare it and are caught your vacation is ruined.

These are basically additional pages from the same source as post 1.

Canned tuna

There is a number to call but generally canned tuna for personal use is probably ok.

Cereal

Per the website should be ok. See restrictions on certain whole grains.

Sauce

https:/…meat

*I would call about meat sauces. That could be problematic.

generally things with meat aren't allowed as any product with seeds. I've been hassled when I crossed back into the US with an unopened bag of cat food. Normally its pretty easy but leave the meat products at home.

I made a list and I told them everything that I had with me. I checked the list ahead of time and I told them that I had reviewed the list and did my best to avoid bringing any of those items with me. If there is anything that is problematic, make sure you have it ready to hand over.

However, I think you can probably find most of these things in the US after you arrive.
