I'd go to the primary source rather than rely on highly localized information, especially when few are crazy enough to drive on this wintry/snowy day.

We have over a foot of snow on Redmond Ridge, east of Lake WA, and Arlington folks reported two or more feet. What will happen later is best examined by the website, provided below.

Weather underground is a good source for weather, both current and forecast:

Oh, the weather outside is frightful... :-)

I am hoping to drive to Leavenworth Sunday so here's hoping by the weekend the roads will be good again. They got 23 inches of snow in Arlington (between Bellingham and Everett), and that doesn't happen often.

Leavenworth will certainly be pretty, all the lights on snow.

I drove to north seattle tonite from the airport. The interstate is pretty much ok but as always the hardest hit areas are Lynwood north. Stanwood and Bellingham always get a lot more snow than the seattle area. Try to pick up a Seattle station online to give you some idea. Kiro 710 or king5.com has traffic online reports. I'm hoping its better by monday.

Just a heads up - but we (Bellingham) are expecting snow / freezing rain on Sunday. Usually I5 is ok thru town - around Alger is usually the worst hit.

Snow I can handle -- freezing rain? No way!

"Trapped! How to Survive an Impromptu Vacation at an Interstate Hotel",

"Chain Reaction! The Worst Multi-Car Collision in Washington State History"

These are magazine articles I'd rather not write! Unfortunately, I could write one of them from prior experience. I hear Pelican Rapids, MN is a lovely town, but I only got to see the inside of our hotel, which did not have cable.

Go to wsdot.gov site for cameras of actual freeway conditions and traffic volumes in Seattle area.

So much for the trip to Leavenworth... Maybe they'll extend the lighting festival until another date when the weather breaks.

Anyone know when is that scheduled, so I can mark my calendar?
