Suggestions for New year's eve and Anniversary |
|
We will be in Seattle for new year's eve and check out on Jan 2. 2009. Our first wedding anniv is on Jan 1.
We want make it really romantic and memorable. for hotel, I was thinking Grand Hyatt but it seems like it is in downtown but might not have great view of water etc. some people talk about Pike place but is it really romantic?
Any advise on Hotel and to book any event for New year eve would be greatly appreciated.
PS: This our first time to Seattle.

The Grand Hyatt is a very nice hotel with some of the nicest rooms in Seattle IMO (esp the suites) but it's a little cold and corporate in its feel, so not the most romantic place. I really like the Inn at the Market--I'd be very happy having a romantic evening there. You might also look into the new Four Seasons which just opened. What type of event are you looking for for NYE? Congrats on your anniversary!

Thanks for the suggestions. I did look into it and Inn at the market only has water town house avsilable for $450 per night and Four seasons is $495 per night. They are almost double the rpice of Hyatt. Do you think it would be worth spending twice? We were looking for a romantic dinner( not sure if I should take a cruise as it will be super cold). I am open to any suggestions.

The Grand Hyatt has beautiful, luxurious rooms especially large bathrooms, no view. It's a good choice for the price point...but if it is romance you are after...and if you think you may spend alot of time in the room, a smaller, boutique hotel might be worth the extra $$. Inn at the Market would be my first choice too, but also check out the Alexis, Hotel Andra, Hotel 1000, Fairmount Olympic. The Edgewater is on the water - the waterfront rooms are the only choice IMO. Let them know it's a special anniversary.

How about Teatro Zinzanni for New Year's? Though not necessarily romantic, it is special and will be very festive and memorable for New Year's. I am sure if you let them know it was your anniversary they would seat you front and center :-)

Congratulations! Great event, great program, Seattle Symphony... seattlesymphony.org/symphony/… The days are short, nights long, this time of year,so the water view is moot. Suggest you follow advice of others and take a boutique hotel and save the water views for your touring.

We stayed at the Hotel Edgewater in panoramic water view room, the property is in a beautiful setting, right over the water. Our room had a fireplace and included breakfast each morning at Six Seven, they also have an outstanding shuttle service at Hotel Edgewater and helpful, friendly staff. Enjoy Seattle! :)
