We buy a bottle of "Grey Goose" every year in FQ for our New Years Trip. Last year, the bottle was definitely NOT Grey Goose! I almost expext that in dive bars, but never had a problem with a retailer. Hate to give up the New Year's trip tradition. Can anyone recommend a reputable liquor shop near FQ? Or share any local wisdom on the topic? Thanks.
OK, just checked my credit card statement and confirmed that we bought the counterfeit Grey Goose for $80.43 from "UNIQUE GROCERY STORE" (which is right accross the street from Hotel Monteleone). I can't tell Coke from Pepsi from RC cola, and I can't tell the difference between any other authentic vs. knock-off brand, but there is a BIG difference between cheap and expensive vodka.

Unique Grocery Store. LOL Sorry but that place is a pit. I'm not surprised that you got suspect booze there. That's where the drunk guy fell and splattered his face in front of. A lot of sad looking drunk guys hang out there. Stay away.
