 New Orleans in Nov

I loved New Orleans but have not been there since Katrina. It is our 20th anneversary and I'd like to go someplace REALLY nice in the French Quarter. Is that area more or less re-built? Are all the restaurants and clubs up and running?

Its a very special occasion for us- so I want to be sure its the New Orleans I know and love.

The French Quarter is in great shape. Cleanist it has been in years. Fabulous food at numerous FQ restaurants such as Galatoires, Arnauds, Mr B's Bistro, Broussards, Louisiana Bistro, Bayona, Arnauds, K-Pauls, Emeril's NOLA, Stella, Irenes. Top hotels Omni Royal, Royal Sonesta, Montleone and the Ritz. Music clubs abound with wide variety. Perhaps begin with a martini at the Bombay Club or a glass of wine at the Orleans Grapevine. Other top notch dining places would be Muriels, GW Fins, and Cafe Amelie.

for New Orleans

The French Quarter was rarely affected by Katrina and was one of the first neighborhoods to be up and running after the storm. Everything is pretty much up and running, and there are actually more restaurants in the area now than before Katrina.

For a really nice dinner in the French Quarter, I'd recommend Stella! first and foremost, followed by Bayona and Galatoire's. Another excellent choice is Restaurant August in the nearby Warehouse District.

We have been back a dozen times since Katrina. The FQ is as you remember it (if you remember it?).

Enjoy!!
