I haven't read the reviews (been years since I stayed there) andI don't know what price range you are looking in, I probably wouldn't stay that far down Rampart Street (a ittle sketchy area of the Quarter and not that close to Bourbon) if I had other options a little closer to the more heavily traveled areas of the Quarter or even the hotels like Royal St. Charles that are popping up near the Quarter by Canal Street- still easy walking distance. I have not stayed there, but I do not believe this is a safe location. The French Quarter is actually very safe at night if you are closer to, or on the other side of Bourbon Street and in the half of the French Quarter closer to Canal Street. I have visited New Orleans many times and I would not stay in this location. Much of the charm of New Orleans is walking around Bourbon Street and the "safer", more traveled areas of the Quarter at night. Report as inappropriate

My son stayed there last year. I thought the rooms were ok for the rates. I was also worried about the location but after talking to one of the locals across the road felt it was OK. She ran a B&B and said that she regularly took walks around the Quarter by herself late at night an has never had a problem. Later that night at about 1am I saw her doing just what she said. However if you are not already booked there are better locations. Report as inappropriate

There's really no reason to stay there. Rampart is not a great street (although the local news recently had a story about its improvement) and crime is higher there than on the "lower" streets of the Qtr--Bourbon to the river. The hotel itself is basically a motel with higher-than-motel rates. Report as inappropriate
