2 days in baltimore - looking for hotel & food suggestions

We will be in Baltimore late September for an O's game. Game time is 1:05 but my husband says we really need to be there for BP....So, we plan to get to Baltimore early Saturday morning, find parking near hotel and walk to Camden Yards. After the game we will check into our room and then walk around for drinks and dinner and drinks.

I'm thinking the Fells Point area would be a good fit for us. I don't see a lot of hotel choices right in Fells Point. We're only staying 1 night. Is the Courtyard Marriott Innerharbor on Aliceanna street close enough to Fells Point to safely walk around at night? We won't be out after 10ish. If not, any other suggestions on where to stay?

Dinner & drinks: Can you suggest a couple of fun places for drinks and people watching? A lively pub? Also a place for yummy crabs? Maybe dining outside?

Finally, a tasty place for a quick breakfast on Sunday morning?

Thanks for your help!

Courtyard Marriott Innerharbor will be perfect for what you want to do. It's about 1/2 way between the Yard and Fells Point. From your hotel you can take a quick $7 cab ride to Camden Yards or if you have some extra time wait for the free Charm City Circulator bus to pick you up and take you about 2 blocks from the Yard.

The circulator will take you about 20 min to get there though because it stops for about 5-10 min. at Power Plant Live as it's on a timeschedule and that's where it "rests". Otherwise it'a about a 17 block walk. Nice walk but not if you are trying to make time to get to batting practice.

From your hotel you can also take the Green line Charm City Circulator to Fells Point or walk the 9 blocks east to Fells Pt. Not a bad walk from your hotel and you can walk the waterfront promenade all the way there. It's a bit farther because it hugs the water line but it's a nice view.

Fells Pt has several outdoor dining options. If it's outdoor you want hit up Waterfront Kitchen or Bond Street Social. Both are lively. Both have great seafood for not being "crabhouse restaurants". Great for couples. Good atmosphere.

Fells Pt. is all about people watching. Easy bar hopping. Lively crowds.

We are looking to spend a long weekend in Baltimore in October. We will be flying out of Providence, RI. We want to stay near bars/restaurants, don't want to rent a vehicle (we like walking). That said, we are very interested in a crab place that serves up tons of it and you just break them open and eat them, so suggestions for that type of place will be much appreciated.

Other than that a hotel that is close to these types of places.

For the OP, I think you'd be OK walking to the game and back, and to Fells Point and back. You're in a good centralized location to walk everywhere but of course if you aren't up for all of it, you can do what Grav suggested, however, it's not worth waiting on the Green Charm Bus to get to Fells, it's a 5-10 min walk from your hotel along the water. It would take probably double that to get there via bus, including wait times.

For places in Fells, I recommend Thames Street Oyster House for the best seafood in Baltimore, and for crabs, Riptide by the Bay. All the restaurants in the heart of Fells have outdoor seating, just be prepared to wait if the weather is nice. Fells is a great place to wander and pop into what looks good to you. They have everything from upscale to dive bars.

Sandy, stay in the harbor and take the light rail to/from the airport. It'll drop you off two blocks away from the harbor where plenty of hotels are located.

For crabs, go to LP Steamers in Federal Hill. You can take the Banner Route Charm Bus at intersection of Pratt and Light Street to get there, or, a short cab ride. Charm Bus is free though.
