I have already made a couple post i am coming thanksgiving weekend. I made a reservation at hyatt but still have time to cancel. Any input from locals or ones who have stayed there as to which hotel is better regarding location, value for dollar. I am abit concerned about the bedbug remarks on reviews on hyatt

flgirl - dh and I stayed at Hyatt in August for four days during TS Faye. Our room was immaculate, furnishings and bedding were like new and there were no signs of bed bugs. We have also stayed at Crown Plaza (over a year ago), and while it's ok, the rooms are not as nice - our room needed renovation and it was just not comparable to the Hyatt. Maybe they have updated the rooms since then - I would definitely ask. Either location is good. Hyatt is on the north bank about two blocks walk from Jax Landing with restaurants and bars. Crown Plaza is on the south bank within walking distance of Chart House, River City Brewing Company, Wine Cellar, and Ruth's Chris onsite. It's a 10 minute walk across the main street bridge to get across the river, or a short water taxi ride. If the price is the same, I would definitely stay at the Hyatt. I think parking is charged at both hotels - don't remember the amount. Whatever you decide, try to get a riverview room for the fireworks and boat parade. If you've never seen the waterfall fireworks off the bridges, you're in for a treat:

Good stuff Trixie,

Flgrl Like I told Trixie the bug thing may have been a fired employee ( that can happen) I wonder if the folks at the Hyatt and or Crown read T/A ... maybe they should.

Flgrl Also... I have looked at the reviews for the Hyatt and they go up and down and more than one person had bites? well... maybe not a employee after all ( that got fired not sure) Crowne Rated 28 Hyatt 14 both have pretty current reviews maybe you should PM those folks who stayed in both recently and see what they say?

Thats what I would do
