It's a two mile walk, or you can take the 38 bus, or you can take a taxi.

Depending on when you are coming, the Phlash shuttle may also be an option.

The 38 bus costs $2.25 per person, $1.80 with token. You can buy tokens at news stands at the corners of 4th & Chestnut and at the Independence Visitor Center, 6th and Market. They come in 5 and 10 count bags.

Here's the schedule for the 38, I used to take this bus a lot & while the journey is only about 20 minutes long, the period between busses is at least 20 minutes.

Unfortunately, there are not a lot of 5 passenger taxis in the Philadelphia area so you'd probably have to take 2 cabs. I would figure at about $13 -15 including tip per cab. Will take about 15 minutes. Taxi will either drop you off at the Rocky Steps or East entrance. If anyone in the group can't do the stairs, ask the driver to take you to the back, or west entrance.

If walking isn't a problem & the weather is good. It's a nice walk from Independence Hall to the Art Museum. It takes about 50 - 60 minutes depending upon your pace.

Here's the Phlash info:
