Hi.

Any help or recommendation for a hotel real close to Jefferson Hospital . Need a reasonable rate and security/safety is very important as I may be staying alone.

Is this a safe area to walk in? Also if taxi ride is reasonale would consider staying further away from Jefferson.

Thank You.

Hi,

If you give your dates of stay and budget, I'll be happy to assist you in finding a hotel that fits your needs.

The area is safe, just as with any major city you have to use the usual precautions and be aware of your surroundings.

Thank You Suzanne.

II may be trying to make it back the first week of December.

My trip is to visit a relative who is in Jefferson Hospital. So I don't need a luxury resort or anything fancy.

Mainly concerned with being safe and also would be nice to have a place to eat right outside the door.

Hospital has a list of hotels they give to relatives, etc. But who knows what that mans.

Holiday Inn Express was mentioned

I keep looking at the Comfort Inn at Penns Landing also.

Even if I stayed a little further away from the Hospital it would be ok with me as long as the cab fare is reasonable.

Sorry for being a PITA.

Thanks.

Almost any of the CC hotels would not be a horrible walk up until say 8 PM (and after that can detour over to broad and then market, which is well lit, populated and just fine), and you can catch a cab fairly cheaply.

The hospital main building is 11th and Sansom I think.

Depending on your budget, the Loewes and Marriott are about 2 blocks away, with plenty of dining options (Reading Terminal Market and Chinatown). Also in that area is the Courtyard and the Residence Inn.

The Doubletree is also an option, but less to eat outside the hotel directly.

That Holiday Inn Express gets fairly good reviews - I've never stayed there myself, but it is probably not a bad option. I believe breakfast is included as well.

Also fairly close, as Loonbeam mentioned, are the Marriott properties (Downtown, Courtyard and Residence Inn) and the Loews.

If you give your exact dates of stay, I may be able to find a bargain for you via Hotwire - if your dates are firm, that is. They can offer great rates, but are nonrefundable. Let me know.

There's a Rodeway Inn two blocks away from the hospital on Walnut St. You should ask them about their hospital rate (I believe they offer a discounted rate). You mentioned safety, the hotel has a 24-hour front desk and each room has a safe. It's a safe neighborhood to walk in..plenty of great restaurants and shops (Diesel, William Sonoma, etc..so it's definitely safe) within walking distance.

I know where that Rodeway Inn is located and it, on the whole, doesn't get good reviews. The neighborhood is fine, but I think if you are looking for budget accomodations, you'd be better off at the Holiday Inn previously mentioned.

Another suggestion is the Alexander Inn at 12th and Spruce. My DH and I stayed there in January. The room was small but immaculate and comfortably decorated. Our room had a very nice bathroom. It is not a luxury hotel but it was very nice. During the Continental Breakfast in the morning I overheard several guests say that they were families of patients at Jefferson Hospital. It is located only a couple of blocks from the hospital. Numerous restaurants are located near the Alexander Inn. Moms

Thanks You All! At this point I am still not sure about making the trip.

I am thinking that the money spent on the flight and hotel might be put to better use in financially helping out my family member.

Again Thank You
